Position Description

The successful candidate will be expected to teach both graduate and undergraduate courses in the Department of Biology and develop an externally funded research program involving graduate students.

Required Qualifications

1. Earned Ph.D. in microbiology, virology, or related areas. Microbiology, virology or related areas may include the terminal degree in majors that include the words aquatic, ecology, biology, or biological. Note: there are dozens of majors in microbiology and related areas. We have listed the most common words that would apply here.
2. A record of published research accomplishments in genome-scale research and analyses.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Postdoctoral experience;
2. a record of grant funding to support research;
3. strong bioinformatics skills; and
4. experience in microbiology research complementing the research strengths of the department.
